Clean your face with Oil?, Believe it or Not, Yes! those of us who have experienced an oily skin moment at one time or another thought "I need something to strip this oil away." Well contrary to that thought we were only making the matter worse. When our skin gets too dry our bodies kick in to fix the problem, how? you guessed it by producing more oil.
Here is where that basic chemistry class pays off. "Like dissolves Like" Oil actually dissolves oil, The best way to dissolve a non-polar solvent like sebum/oil, is by using another non-polar solvent similar in composition.
That said, you need to use the "RIGHT" oils. Oils that are non clogging, the wrong oil would defeat the whole process. Using the right oils you can cleanse your pores of dirt and bacteria naturally, gently and effectively, while replacing the dirty oil with beneficial ones extracted from natural botanicals, vegetables and fruits that heal, protect and nourish your skin. When done properly and consistently, the OCM can clear the skin from issues like oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, blackheads, whiteheads and other problems caused by mild to moderate acne–while leaving your skin healthy, balanced and properly moisturized.”
Ciao for now!
Women we treasure our crowning glory, but it is more work for some than others. I laugh when I hear ladies with straight hair wishing for curly hair, and ladies with curly hair wishing for straight hair. Listening to all of the ways each go about accomplishing this desire is sometimes amusing, and sometimes sad because identity, and self esteem in many cases are attached to the locks we were born with . Lately I have noticed women of all nationalites embracing the natural flow of her mane, and I applaud each and every one of you.
I would like to pay special tribute to the growing number of African American Women that have, and are embracing her inner naturalista. Many women in this community have been ostracized, criticized, and simply ignored based solely on how she chooses to wear her hair. I have heard the terms like "militant, radical, ethnic" to describe these women just from a first glance, and these terms are the milder ones. The desire to blend in, or transform to make others comfortable has led to countless hair catastrophe's. Have you seen the movie Good Hair? regardless of how you feel about the portrayals or Chris Rock some very interesting information came to light, especially about the hair industry, and the damage caused by the caustic chemicals used to achieve the socially acceptable look. So, again I want to say Bravo to these ladies for standing up for themselves. I have seen some positive changes recently even in Hollywood, making it a little easier to embrace, but it is just a start, there is still a long road to travel on this subject.
I am calling all my naturalista friends and fans to leave comments on your experiences as a naturalist or on your journey transitioning to natural. Have you used Camellia Seed Oil or Shea Butter in your hair care regimen? of course I would love you to try our hair butter, but I also want to help make this process easier for others with your information, and encouragement.
Ciao for now,
I am trying to hold my composure but I am really ticked off. I attend many trade shows, and events to stay current on what's happening in the industry. Most of the time, even overall this time I enjoyed the experience as a whole. My friend/consultant, and I recently attended an event, checking out new products in the market, and we were pleasantly surprised to see several new companies in the industry like TeaShea promoting all natural, and organic products.
As we walked around asking questions I was horrified to find a couple of vendors out right LIE about what was in the product they were promoting. Anytime someone say's Shea Butter my ears perk up, I want to know is it organic, unrefined, refined, and so on. This information is required to be on the label, so that's where my eyes wander. YES, IT REALLY DOES MATTER! perfect example we asked a vendor about his product, what's in it, and its benefits. He responds "the main two ingredients are Shea Butter and Lavender Oil", great so far, then I turn the label around and Shea Butter is nowhere to be found not even in the technical nomenclature, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter). It smelled great, but it was fake!
Second example, we went to another vendor same questions, I have to give her credit she was able to truthfully state what the main ingredients were in the product but when asked about its benefits, her response was the oils are great and natural. Yes, go on...BLANK STARE, REALLY! Now we happen to know the benefits because it's our business, so if you asked me what is the benefits of camellia seed oil, I would tell you, it is highly moisturizing, a natural antioxidant, non-comedogenic, maintains a healthy pH balance, softens wrinkles and tiny age lines, and conditions scalp to name a few.
I share this only to remind you to check things out for yourself, read labels, I know it can be difficult with the tiny print, but it is important for you to make a truly informed decision on the products you choose.
Caio for now,
Fall is upon us, and winter will quickly follow. As the weather changes we need to protect our bodies. I want to focus on the lips, we all love soft lips. It would really annoy me when my lips would dry out because of the changes in weather. In the summer I worried about burning, and peeling, the windy fall, drying, and in the winter, cracking. Like most of you for years I would grab for some type of chapstick and go on about my business. Well it is definitely better than nothing but my lips weren’t getting any conditioning or moisture, just a seal to block out the elements. Many chapstick products are petroleum jelly based, and like I mentioned it creates a seal, the type where nothing gets in and nothing gets out, and it just sits on your lip until you remove it or eat it away.
The great thing about camellia seed oil, and shea butter is that they both, retain, and seal in moisture, and is readily absorbed keeping your lips soft. Now I use TeaShea Lip Balm to keep my lips soft, supple, and conditioned year round. The antioxidants in this lip balm helps fight off free radicals not only making my lips have a more youthful appearance but also helps to improve the health of my lips.
Get your TeaShea lip balm, and tell us how it works out for you.
Caio for now,
Summer is the perfect reason most of us use to shed our shoes, and show off our feet. Even some of the most shy feel okay letting the tootsies out. I love looking for that perfect sandal or open toe shoe to showcase my newly pedicured size 10 feet. Most nail shops have moved away from sloughing of callouses naturally with a pumice stone to offering a liquid callous remover to help rid the feet of built up cracks, and callouses. It probably had to do with all the sweat needed to tame those stubborn nodules.
On a couple of my visits I chose to have the liquid callous remover, what I noticed was that my feet begin to dry out quicker, along with flakiness. Well needless to say I no longer use the remover, and stick to asking for the old fashioned pumice. These products are usually acid callus removal treatments that contain salicylic, citric or hydroxy acids.
With a little research I found that these treatments are generally safe, but could have some adverse implications for people with medical conditions like diabetes, or poor circulation, it is possible the acid could burn a hole in the foot because of nerve damage associated with these conditions. Caution should also be taken if you have painful, or bleeding callouses, it would be wise to check with your doctor.
To combat the daily beating on my feet I use our body balm daily to keep my heels, and the bottom of my feet soft, and moisturized. Because of the antioxidants and high content of natural emollients in tea seed oil, and shea butter my feet look great everyday. I even use it on my elbows, and knees, areas we tend to neglect.
Try one of our balms, and let me know how it works out for you.
I am Shay(shea) Bella, I look forward to sharing information and tips on natural, hair and skin care with you. I want you to join me on the TeaShea journey as I visit people using TeaShea as well as getting people to transition over to a more natural, and healthier way to maintain his or her hair and skin.
A little about me, I love anything that has to do with Tea. I have several certifications in tea, Yes, there are certification for tea, lol! TeaShea is a product line born of that love and our tea company. I will always have a cup of tea at my side, I may refer to a tea that I am drinking while chatting with you and will most definitely share some of those tips where appropriate. As you know there is a lot of information coming out about all the benefits tea has to offer. Well that is not limited to just the beverage, tea seed oil is the oil that is pressed out of the tea seed. The oil offers the same great benefits.
The Shea part of it come from Shea Butter that is another incredible skin moisturizer, and conditioner. we have combined these two to create a product that will benefit your hair, and skin needs.
